Maharshi Foundation
Night Schools
As aware, concerned and able citizens of India, we are duty bound to contribute to the process of nation building in any manner possible, and education is the single most important pillar on which any country stands. Therefore, to ensure a strong foundation for growth and development, we must direct most of our resources in the sphere of education. Moreover, we must also give underprivileged and poor children an opportunity to excel and free themselves from the chains of poverty, which is only possible by providing them with quality and value oriented education.
For this reason, we propose to initiate a Night School Program for underprivileged, poor and street children who cannot afford formal education because of social and monetary marginalization.
With rising incidents of young adults taking to the world of crime and even more committing suicide and giving in to forces of immorality and unlawful activities, it is with deep concern that we conclude that only and only education and opportunity can rid the society of such evils and lead India to the road of real progress. For, as the American philosopher John Dewey once said that, “education is not preparation for life; education is life itself”.
In this regard, we request and urge that you please consider to help us in this noble endeavor by providing us with one or two classrooms from 7-9 pm on weekdays so that we can conduct classes for the children. The teaching staff will consist of volunteers from all walks of life including educated homemakers, senior citizens and young adults seeking to participate in part time social service.
